We are seeking a talented candidate for the role of Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant, who is committed to excellence and desiring a rewarding job, to join our Team.
The offices are located in Solon, Hudson and Mentor.
Days and Times: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday – 8am – 5pm; Tuesday and Friday 8am – 3pm
Essential Functions:
- Welcoming patients and families, escorting them to the exam room, collecting vital signs and chief complaint, and maintaining a friendly relationship with patients and families throughout the visit.
- Performing Allergy procedures and office duties including allergy testing, breathing tests, and home sleep apnea tests, in conjunction with the doctor’s direction and office protocols.
- Administering and preparing allergy injections with precision and care
- Assisting with duties and procedures needed to help the doctor and patient
- Anticipating patient and provider needs and procedures
- Educate patients as required after physician establishes the treatment plan.
- Organizing and straightening up patient rooms and preparing patient forms
- Multitasking and managing workflow to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner
- Updating the patient’s electronic medical record in an accurate and timely fashion
- Ensuring rooms are stocked with needed supplies for patient visits
- Assisting with patient concerns, phone calls, EMR tasks, and prescription management in a timely manner
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to engage effectively with patients and families
- Flexibility and adaptability in managing multiple priorities
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required)
Experience Qualifications
- 3+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Required)
Skills and Abilities
- Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds; able to organize changing work assignments. (Required proficiency)
- Medical terminology. (Preferred proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) within 6 Months (Required)
