Who are you

This position will be scheduled to work 7am-7pm on a 3-2-2-3 shift schedule, with potential for overtime. It is a stellar opportunity to work at a high-profile Data Center for a large technology company. The Critical Facility Technician is responsible for professional installation of wiring to a multitude of server rack and branch circuits in the construction phase of a new data center build as well as the production phase once data center is live.

This role support's Colliers mission for 100% facility uptime and requires strong critical environment electrical skills, safe work practices, and routine conduct of hands-on operations and maintenance work on a variety of critical facility systems and equipment within the critical environment.

Work requires strong formal conduct of electrical installation of branch circuits, technical expertise, personal accountability, personnel management, general electrical maintenance, and flawless execution of assigned work activities in a high-risk critical environment.

What you Bring

  • High School diploma or GED. Trade school diploma or certification.

  • 2+ years' experience in performing electrical work in the industrial, commercial, or critical facilities.

  • Working knowledge of data center systems, standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure.

  • Flexibility, including the willingness and ability to readily respond to changing circumstances and expectations. Openness to new ideas and willingness to follow scripted procedures.

  • Exceptional tradesman ship and knowledge of electrical code and fundamentals.

  • Experience working on commercial construction sites.

  • Advanced competency utilizing safe work practices.

  • Good judgment, strategic agility, and good decision-making skills.

  • The ability to work well as a part of a team and to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Solid work ethic and integrity, able to work under deadline and supervision.

  • Oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, also Visio, and Access.

  • Able to lift 50 lbs. +, work from heights, follow Client supplied strict safety guidelines.

Bonus skills and experience

  • Journeyman License (preferred, not required)

  • OSHA 10 certification, OSHA 30 (preferred)

What success looks like

  • Completes assigned projects in a timely manner.

  • Works with all operational teams and apprentices to ensure flawless implementation of products and services.

  • Experience pulling wire and termination into MTS switches.

  • Experience with mechanical connections including plumbing fittings and water cooled technology.

  • Work with Critical Facility Lead/ Foreman to adhere to customers schedule.

  • Possess electrical/mechanical certifications (preferred).

  • Organized and efficient use of materials.

  • Performing and/or delegating installation and preventative maintenance tasks to the appropriately qualified maintenance or electrical apprentice staff.

  • When applicable, perform work in strict accordance with standard operating procedures and maintenance work instructions.

  • Receive and execute work orders for electrical wiring installation under the guidance of the site Foreman/Lead

  • Run wire and make terminations at customer devices in an efficient and quality controlled manner.

  • Operate aerial lifts including scissor and boom.

  • Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.

  • Performs additional job duties as requested.
