SCOPE OF POSITION

OSU Harding Hospital/East Hospital-Talbot Hall provides the most comprehensive behavioral healthcare services for adults in central Ohio. We offer more treatment options and a more experienced and diversified staff than any other psychiatric or behavioral healthcare provider in the area. All of our psychiatric emergency, behavioral health immediate care (BHIC), inpatient, outpatient, IOP, and partial hospitalization services include a comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis from a qualified clinician and implementation of an individualized treatment plan. We offer specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing psychiatric emergency amp; crisis, need for behavioral health immediate care, mood and anxiety disorders, , , t- and stress-related disorders, and sexual dysfunction. We offer specialty programs in womens behavioral health, addictions, trauma, adolescent school-based, and neurocognitive disorders. Talbot Hall provides the most comprehensive addiction services for adults in central Ohio, offering specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing a substance use disorder. We offer traumatic brain injury specific treatment, the latest Medicated Assisted Treatment for opiate and alcohol use disorders. Talbot offers detox, Intensive Outpatient, partial hospitalization and many outpatient and continuing care groups. Patients and their family will experience the benefits of patient-focused care through the integrated skills of all treatment team members. BHIC Clinicians 2, 3, amp; 4s serve as a critical part of our clinical team; they are independent providers who functions within the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to provide assessment, counseling, and psychotherapy.

The OSU Behavioral Health Immediate Care program has been designed to bridge the gaps in the mental health continuum of care. OSU Behavioral Health Immediate Care (BHIC) offers short-term psychotherapy and psychiatric medication evaluation, management, and limited case-management services to OSU patients at risk for behavioral health decompensation.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Social Work Manager 2, BHIC, under the direction of the Director, is responsible for supervising a group of Behavioral Health Clinicians, Case Management Specialists, Peer Supporters, and ancillary staff collaborating with other behavioral health providers and leadership. The Manager 2, Behavioral Health also is expected to manage their own caseload of patients and provide short-term psychotherapeutic services to patients and/or families. This position prioritizes patient care needs and provides leadership and development of the BHIC team.

The Social Work Manager 2, BHIC, is also responsible for promoting efficient and effective mental health assessment and treatment by directing BH Clinicians, Case Management Specialists, and Peer Supporters within designated programs or locations. The Manager 2, works closely with the Director to assure innovative, evidenced based psychotherapeutic strategies are used positively to impact patient care, achieve quality patient outcomes; provide quality staff training and professional development opportunities, improve service performance and reimbursement, treatment episode length, and minimize costs.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire: Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field; Independent Ohio license to practice (i.e., LISW, LPCC, LICDC) with Supervisory Designation is required. A minimum of five years of experience working with patients with mental illness and/or substance use disorders is also required. Experience and/or training in at least one evidence-based psychotherapy modality (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy) is preferred. Prior leadership and supervisory experience is preferred.

Ongoing: Maintain licensure(s), credentials, and CBLs. Practice within the parameters of the Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board. Training in at least one evidence-based psychotherapy modality (e.g., cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal psychotherapy) will be required. Leadership amp; supervisory training may be required.
