The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $58,000.00 - $87,000.00

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Review creative briefs, assessing new requests and collaborating with internal clients to extract key information for story development.
  • Identify and cultivate compelling narratives, ensuring that content resonates with the audience and supports the brand's strategic direction.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of video, photo and other projects, liaising with internal and external partners to deliver on vision while adhering to deadlines and budgets.
  • Ensure consistency among various vendors and artists to stay within WGU brand requirements.
  • Contact, schedule, and prepare subjects for video interviews and shoots, managing logistics including travel and lodging accommodations with a thorough and detail-oriented approach.
  • Research, book, schedule and acquire permits for set locations for video and photography shoots.
  • Research, book, and schedule photographers and other contractors including getting them set up in our people management software, setting up purchase orders and insuring they get paid on time.
  • Facilitate the communication process within teams, providing clear status updates, identifying projects challenges, and negotiating solutions that serve all parties' interests.
  • Coordinate travel and lodging accommodations for team to attend commencements or on-location video shoots.
  • Lead and guide a dynamic team of producers, coordinating efforts and leveraging individual strengths to produce high-caliber video content.
  • Develop detailed production schedules, bid requests, and estimates, ensuring resource allocation aligns with project scope.
  • Oversee project lifecycle to ensure completion and consistency, including version control and distribution readiness.
  • Implement system to track, analyze, and report on project deliveries, utilizing data to drive efficiency and improvement.
  • Exhibit a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining poise under pressure to meet demanding deadlines, and staying current with industry trends and content strategies.
  • Employ a strong understanding of filming techniques and production requirements to lead teams effectively under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, from team members to students to external partners.
  • Develop and refine best practices for workflow, process, and team efficiency, fostering an environment of excellence, innovation, and confident collaboration.
  • Provide support for executive team members, inducing the preparation and assistance with presentations and on-camera readiness.

  • Proven track record managing video and/or photoshoots is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years as a producer or studio manager in a photo/video studio, fast-paced agency and/or in-house creative or marketing environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Film & Media Arts, Film Production, Communication, or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
  • Experience in PM tools such as Workfront, Asana, Basecamp, JIRA, or similar tools required.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, direct, and develop talent and crew within a production team environment.
  • 2-3 years minimum experience managing direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in a creative agency or in-house creative team, with demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution.
  • Experience working on a film set in a variety of crew roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of video and photo productions and equipment
  • Strong knowledge of video design and editing tools (Adobe CC, Premiere, AfterEffects, etc.).

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Hybrid role based in Salt Lake City, 1-2 days in office
  • Prolonged periods sitting in a desk and working at a computer.
  • Travel up to 20%.
